The Brain Embroidered Tee
The plateThe BrainEverything with this plateRelaxed. Take your usual size.Sizes
The brain seen from above, the two hemispheres side by side with the folds of the cortex picked out in thread. Drawn by N. H. Jacob for J.-M. Bourgery’s Traité complet de l’anatomie de l’homme, Paris, 1831–1854.
The embroidery
Heavy ring-spun cotton, 207 g/m², dyed after sewing, so it comes soft and a little lived-in. Embroidered on the centre of the chest, about 7 × 9 cm, in maroon and red thread on light colours and navy and white on dark ones. The plate is in the public domain; the embroidery is a simplified stitched version of it, from the scan in the Wellcome Collection.
